Thank you for visiting our new Claiborne Parish Assessor’s Office website. This website was created to give the taxpayers of Claiborne Parish access to property information including owners, legal descriptions and maps of the area. It also explains the functions and responsibilities of the assessor’s office and answers some of the most commonly asked questions about assessment of property.

The Claiborne Parish Assessor is required by the Louisiana State Constitution and the Revised Statutes passed by the Legislature to discover, list and value all property subject to ad valorem taxes. This includes all real estate, business, personal property, and oil and gas property and equipment. It is our goal to provide accurate and equitable assessments with knowledge, fairness and integrity. Correct property assessments provide our local governments, law enforcement, schools, fire districts and others with the funds they need to maintain, improve and repair our infrastructure, protect us from crime and educate our children.

Our office has an open-door policy for anyone to discuss their assessment as to its accuracy and fairness. We are here to serve the citizens of Claiborne Parish.
